Onboarding
JioMart seller onboarding: what its pages say, both versions, and what we prepare
JioMart's public seller pages carry older wording and two entry statements that disagree on whether sign-up is open. We print both as written, and prepare the papers and catalogue either way.
- Ten years selling on Amazon India, from our own accounts
- Your account and your card. Nothing is routed through us
- A fixed quote in writing within one working day
- 3 free seller tools in your browser and a free extension, no sign-up
- GST-registered business, Kalkaji, New Delhi
What we prepare
What we prepare for JioMart
The pack JioMart's FAQ names
GST (except for books), PAN, a trademark registry paper or a brand authorisation from the retailer or distributor, and any government approval your product needs, gathered in one folder and checked for matching names.
A brand authorisation file
If you sell a brand you do not own, the letter or certificate from the owner or distributor, filed with the product list it covers.
A catalogue and a price sheet
JioMart's FAQ says a seller uploads the product catalogue, pricing and preferred fulfilment model. We build the first two and set out the options for the third.
A food papers check
The FAQ names FSSAI as an example of a licence. If you sell food, we list which of your papers carry the licence number and where it must appear.
A contact log
JioMart prints a seller onboarding email address for unregistered sellers. We keep a dated log of what you sent and what came back.
You provide
- Your GST, PAN and any trademark, authorisation, FSSAI or other approvals you hold.
- The product list with the price you want and the way you prefer to fulfil orders.
- Your own judgement on whether to wait for an invite or press Register.
JioMart decides
- Whether registration is open to you today, or invite-only, whichever is currently true.
- Whether it accepts the documents and confirms the account.
- Its fees, shown on a page inside the seller login.

The FAQ says any enterprise that follows the relevant laws and holds the relevant licences can sell, naming GST (except for Books, where GST is not required) and FSSAI as examples. It also says selling on JioMart does not need a website.

Documents
Documents JioMart asks for
The FAQ names four things you will need. This is JioMart's older wording, so check it against the live sign-up.
From the FAQ: "You will need your regular GST (except for Books), PAN, Trademark Registry OR Brand Authorization (retailer/distributor certificate), and any relevant certificates / approvals mandated by the government."

The FAQ says you register on the seller registration portal, then upload your catalogue, pricing and preferred fulfilment model, and that "Our team will review and confirm." A listing can start with as low as one product.

For sellers who are not registered yet, the FAQ gives seller.onboarding@jiomart.com as the address to write to.

In depth
Approaching JioMart when its own pages disagree
The two things JioMart says
On the seller login page, JioMart says "Don't have an account? Register Now to start selling" and, in the same place, "Express your interest by requesting an invite." In the seller FAQ it says "JioMart is currently launching in Pilot mode which is 'Invite Only'" and also "We are currently in pilot mode and will open registrations soon." We read both on 6 October. They cannot both describe today.
JioMart's public seller pages carry older wording; we confirm the current terms with JioMart when you apply. Treat every JioMart line on this page as the platform's older wording and confirm it with JioMart before you rely on it.
The papers are the same either way
The FAQ is clear about what a seller will need: GST (except for books), PAN, a trademark registry paper or a brand authorisation from the retailer or distributor, and any approvals mandated by the government. It also says a website is not needed and that a seller can start with as few as one product. Those are JioMart's words, quoted with their source in the sections above.
Gathering the papers is the part we can do whether JioMart opens its doors today or later. We check that the business name matches across them, that the authorisation letter names the brand and the products it covers, and that any food licence number is where it should be. A folder built once can be reused for other marketplaces, as described under marketplace activation.
Fees and fulfilment
JioMart's FAQ says listing is free and that fees are linked to sales, naming commission, fixed, collection and shipping fees. JioMart shows the rates inside the seller login (Bill Plan page), so we print none. When you are in, we help you read that page into a margin sheet.
On fulfilment, the FAQ describes a pilot arrangement in which orders go direct to the customer through a logistics provider that JioMart has approved. Whether that is still the model is for JioMart to say. Once you are listed, the daily work looks like catalogue management and inventory management. We never promise access, approval or sales.
Questions
Common questions
Is JioMart open to new sellers or invite-only?
JioMart's own pages disagree. Its login page invites you to register or request an invite, and its FAQ describes an invite-only pilot. Both are printed above with their read dates. Ask JioMart directly.
Do I need a trademark to sell on JioMart?
The FAQ names a trademark registry paper or a brand authorisation from a retailer or distributor. That is older wording, so confirm it with JioMart.
Does JioMart charge to list?
Its FAQ says listing is free and that fees are linked to sales, with the rates on a page inside the seller login. We print no figure.
Can you register me?
No. You register or request an invite in your own name. We prepare the papers and the catalogue and keep the log of what was sent.
